Hebrew Language

The Pure Language

Welcome to the Paleo Hebrew Language page where you can find out details about the pure language known in Hebrew as the Lashawan Qadash (The Pure Tongue). This is known and referred today as Phoenician (Canaan / African) Hebrew, fulfilling the prophecy

Isaiah 19:18 – In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the Lord of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

This early version of Hebrew is also referred to as Ancient Paleo Hebrew as this was the original language of the Israelite’s and of the Bible when it was recorded in written form by Moses. Here you can see the Paleo Hebrew alphabet in comparison to the modern Assyrian Hebrew which came to be adopted during the Babylonian captivity.

Zephaniah 3:9 ~ For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent.

Some additional resources on Paleo Hebrew can be found on these excellent websites. TheRealHebrewIsraelites.comWikipedia , & Ancient-Hebrew.org.

Paleo-Hebrew

The Paleo-Hebrew alphabet (Hebrew: הכתב העברי הקדום‎), also spelt Palaeo-Hebrew alphabet, is a variant of the Phoenician alphabet. Like the Phoenician alphabet, the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet contains 22 letters, all of which are consonants, and is described as an abjad.

Archeological evidence of the use of the script by the Israelites for writing the Hebrew language dates to around the 10th century BC. The Paleo-Hebrew alphabet began to fall out of use by the Jews in the 5th century BC, when the Aramaic alphabet was adopted as the predominant writing system for Hebrew. The present Jewish “square-scriptHebrew alphabet evolved from the Aramaic alphabet. The Samaritans, now fewer than 1000 people, have continued to use a derivative of the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet, known as the Samaritan alphabet.

Phoenician

The Phoenician alphabet, called by convention the Proto-Canaanite alphabet for inscriptions older than around 1050 BC, is the oldest verified alphabet. The Phoenician alphabet is an abjad[3] consisting of 22 letters, all consonants, with matres lectionis used for some vowels in certain late varieties. It was used for the writing of Phoenician, a Northern Semitic language, used by the civilization of Phoenicia.

The Phoenician alphabet is derived from Egyptian hieroglyphs.[4] It became one of the most widely used writing systems, spread by Phoenician merchants across the Mediterranean world, where it evolved and was assimilated by many other cultures. The Paleo-Hebrew alphabet is a local variant of the Phoenician alphabetical script.[5] Another derivative script is the Aramaic alphabet, which was the ancestor of the modern Arabic script. The Modern Hebrew script also known as the Assyian Hebrew is a stylistic variant of the Aramaic script. The Greek alphabet (and by extension its descendants, such as Latin, Cyrillic, Runic, and Coptic) was also derived from Phoenician.

Yiddish

Yiddish is not the same as Hebrew, though they use the same Alphabetical letters they are  two separate languages of two separate people that simply use the same characters. As Hebrew is the language of the original language of the Negros, Latinos, and Native Americans. Yiddish is the international language of Ashkenazic Jews (the fake Jews of Eastern Europe which converted to Judaism in 740AD and their descendants). Yiddish is a hybrid of Hebrew and Medieval German, Yiddish takes about three-quarters of its vocabulary from German, but borrows words liberally from Hebrew and many other languages from the many lands where Ashkenazic so-called Jews have lived. It has a grammatical structure all its own, and is written in an alphabet based on Hebrew characters. Scholars and universities classify Yiddish as a Germanic language.
